How do I update my profile?

This is important, this is what potential employers will see so make sure you present yourself/group/organisation and your work in the best possible way. Images provided must be your own original work, when group work is shown, you must describe your involvement in the project.

We have many helpful tips here.
Be prepared by getting the following things ready to upload:

  • Profile summary/pitch describing what you do (up to 150 words)
  • CV that details your experience, educations and skills (optional)
  • Images of work (up to 15 images)
  • Videos of work – uploaded via youtube
  • Audio recordings of work – uploaded via Soundcloud

Then it is a matter of selecting the right creative category that matches your skillset(s).
Once you have submitted your online creative profile and other details, you will receive a confirmation email.

If you need to make any changes or updates, you can simply click on your profile in the top right of your dashboard. To edit your details, click ‘edit profile’. To edit examples of work, click ‘edit portfolio’.

What creative categories are there?

From our industry experience we have selected a bracket of creative industries for you to select and assign yourself to. If you feel like your talent is not represented, please contact us on hello@revolutioncreative.co.nz

Who can see my profile?

We’re all friends here. Other creatives can view your profile as well as all prospective employers.

What type of position could I get?

This could be anything from a one-off gig, freelance work, part-time, contract or a full-time job.

So, how do I get a position?

Revolution Creative is designed to showcase you as a creative talent, so creative seekers can discover you. They can do this by simply searching profiles and contacting you directly, or they may post a ‘call out’ which will appear under the navigation ‘your call outs’ for you to respond with interest.

What is a ‘call out’?

It is essentially an advertisement for a possible employment opportunity to be posted by a creative seeker, it may be a one off gig, freelance work, part-time, contract or a full-time job. There are actually two types of ‘Call Outs’:

GENERAL CALL OUT

Example One:

CALL OUT: “I’m organizing a Christmas event for 15 staff and need some ideas, ideally this would be an afternoon out of the office and something not too structured… I need to lock it in this week, please help.”
CALL OUT RESPONSE
:“I have a ceramic studio that is perfect for groups; you can relax, get your hands dirty and come away with a momento from the year. There is a small fee that will cover the training, the clay and time to prepare your works after the event. Happy to discuss this further with you – have a look at my profile for more information.”

Example Two:

CALL OUT: Ihave created a new product that I would like to launch in winter. I am new to this but I need help with the packaging, some sales tools and possibly a website, but possibly some more? Can someone please help me?”
CALL OUT RESPONSE: I’m a graphic designer and love packaging, I’d be really interested to hear more about your product. I also have a friend who builds simple e-commerce websites who I’ve worked with before on other small business start-ups who I’m sure would be happy to help. Shall we meet for a coffee as we may have some insight into the process for you?”

SPECIFIC CALL OUT

This is more like job description, where the Creative Seeker knows what they are looking for, writes an advertisement for their requirements and selects the creative industries that this is then targeted to. If it sounds like you may be right for the position, then you can simply reply to express your interest.

What happens when I have responded to a ‘call out’?

Once you have replied to a ‘call out’ it is in the hands of the Creative Seeker. They will contact you via email or phone. Remember, your profile is you selling platform. Ensure this is complete, up to date and well thought out so when potential employees visit they are impressed.

How do I get paid?

The responsibility of payment is between you and the employer. It is really important that a fee is agreed before you start, along with when this payment will be processed. If you need some help on rates, invoice templates, or are wanting some advice on setting up your own company we have many helpful tips here.

Can employers list jobs that don’t offer payment?

When a Creative Seeker places a Call Out for Creatives they are asked to select the type of work they’re offering: Part Time, Full Time, Contract and we have plans to add ‘Internship’ here as well. Seekers can also choose to list the salary or hourly rate offered.

Revolution Creative as a platform does all it can to encourage fair and equitable opportunities for all creatives on the site, yet ultimately it is up to the Seeker to create the terms of the opportunity and the creative to accept or decline it.

RC is not responsible for the jobs/opportunities listed  “It is a platform to facilitate engagement between independent third parties”. For more info on this visit our T’s and C’s.

What if I am having trouble with my employer?

The responsibility of the employer is not that of REVOLUTION CREATIVE. We are helping connect creatives to creative seekers, however all issues that come about following this connection such as late payment need to be discussed between yourselves and the creative seeker that has committed you to the position. It is best to treat it like any other job application.

Is there feedback posted on this website?

Yes! If you respond to a ‘call out’ and get hired then you can ask that employer to provide feedback about your work which will be listed publicly on your profile. A prompt for this will appear on your dashboard once you’ve responded to a ‘call out’.

What does the dashboard do?

The dashboard is where you can find all ‘call outs’, manage these, request feedback and learn a little more about the industry through relevant posts from the REVOLUTION CREATIVE team.

How do I find out about ‘call outs’?

We will not bombard you with job alerts, this is what the dashboard is for. However, when you sign up you can sign up to our database where we will send out monthly emails with news on the industry and a reminder on the ‘call out’s’ that have been posted.

What if I still have questions?

If you haven’t found the answer that you’re looking for then you can contact us on hello@revolutioncreative.co.nzand we will come back to you as soon as possible.
